Job procurement service in the personal and domiciliary care sector
As part of the employment service at Mambré, we're developing a new job procurement programme in order to support people entering the personal and domiciliary care sector.
What are we doing?
Individuals or families seeking to hire someone for this type work are contacted by us, and they proceed to define the employee profile and working conditions. We then recruit the most suitable candidate for the individual or family requiring this service.
From the very beginning, we support and accompany families through all the necessary procedures and steps, such as registering the new employee with the Social Security department so they are able to perform home care tasks and other duties within the home. This support is key to a smooth transition into work for both the employee and the care recipient.
Last but not least, we offer guidance and job preparation to all those who come to our job search service and are interested in this sector.
Our task does not end there; the Mambré employment service makes regular follow-up contact after a contract has been signed to ensure all parties are happy.
How it began
The service has been running since September 2015, and was promoted by the parish priest and the volunteer leader of the parish of Sant Oleguer, the building in which we are located. In fact, the first families in need of home assistance were directed to us via the parish.
Since then, we have held a total of 24 advice sessions with families in need of this service, as a result of which 8 people have been hired, and 8 families in need now have a person to help them around the home.
It should also be noted that in order to offer a better service and strengthen our involvement in this particular sector, we have joined the Professional Network of Domestic Work (Xarxa de Professionalització del Treball Domèstic), through which different entities working in the same field can collaborate.
